Surfing as SurFreak sees it:

  • Becoming one with the beauty of nature and its energy sources, utilizing the wave's power to create an incredible feeling of excitement and a pure adrenaline rush.
  • Filling life with adventures, natural beauty, the ocean, sun, health, harmony and sport.

-Achieving a "pure life" (Pura Vida) by integrating surfing into your way of life.

Basically, SurFreak believes that surfing can help you achieve a better and purer life, one that can take you far away from the daily routine of the western lifestyle.

Surf safari

You'll learn to surf at Costa Rica's best and most beautiful surfing beaches. We go all over the country so that you not only learn to surf but also can enjoy traveling this beautiful country. Furthermore, you'll get to amazing beaches that most tourists never see!!!

We go all over the pacific coast but are not fixed to a particular route; we choose each trip differently based on swell conditions and other variables, which makes the experience so unique and special.

Lessons

Throughout the surf safari you will be guided by instructors with years of experience, who will create a personal training program for you.
We know that many people want to surf but are afraid to try, but our instructors have a special training program built specifically for those who, despite some fears, wish to incorporate surfing into their lives.

We start off each morning with lessons on an exotic beach. All the gear you need will be provided, which you can then use to practice for the rest of the day, with supervised training or more lessons as needed.

Surf Photography as a Souvenir and a Learning Tool

The SurFreak team makes sure that you go home with videos and digital shots as souvenirs of your surfing experience in the greatest spots and conditions. We capture the entire experience in and out of the water.

Apart from documenting your daily experiences, this also will serve as a very effective tool for identifying your weak spots so that you can become a better surfer.

At the end of your surf safari you will receive a souvenir DVD containing all your still and video shots.

Atmosphere

Needless to say, your entire experience will be shared with other surfers and nature lovers like yourself. As part of our vision, the SurFreak team maintains an emphasis on the Costa Rican notion of PURA VIDA.

By spreading out hammocks and other similar gear, we create a laid back atmosphere in the luscious outdoors of Costa Rica, perfect for freshening up and reenergizing in every spot we get to.

Transportation

We can handle all your transportation needs, including picking you up at the airport. Our fully equipped SurFreak van is designed to keep you comfortable as we get to all the best surfing spots, even on Costa Rica's bumpy back roads. The van is air conditioned, has an mp3 compatible stereo system, a wide range of music, DVD movies, and is well-stocked with picnic boxes, cold drinks, and more…
Our trips can be scheduled so that you can join and end the surf safari at numerous locations in Costa Rica. contact us for further details

Sleeping Arrangements

We have arrangements with many leading hotels/cabins and restaurants on all the best beaches. Our preference is to stay at facilities with an ocean view and in locations that are near the breaks where you'll surf. We also have sufficient camping gear to enable us to stay near more remote surfing spots, such as Witch's Rock, while being one with Costa Rica's exquisite nature.

Food

The SurFreak team will supply you with a nutritious breakfast and dinner, appropriate for your surfing needs.

The meals are varied, including both ethnic and western cuisine, and are served in the laid back atmosphere of restaurants that have been specifically chosen with an emphasis on cleanliness, flavor, nutrition, ambiance and more…
Cold beverages and fresh fruit will be available all day long as well.

In sum, you'll get a well designed package that meets all your needs while you learn to surf or improve your surfing at the best spots in Costa Rica.
